lowdown Posted Monday at 21:15 Posted Monday at 21:15 I'm not sure if it has been posted before, if so, always worth another thread. 'Martha Reeves live in concert'. It's not very long (22 minutes) and there are a few top players by the looks of it. Some posters have named the band. Jamerson, Joe Sample (Keys), Wah Wah Watson & Dennis Coffey (Gtrs), Jim Keltner (Drums), Ollie E. Brown (percussion), Steve Doc Kupka (sax) Emilio Castillo (trumpet) Both from Tower of Power. George Bohannon (trombone) Maxine Willard, Maxine Waters, and Clydie King on back up vox. And, of course, Martha on top form!! 9 6 Quote
Dan Dare Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Lovely stuff. What a band. And Martha, as well as being a great singer, was a bit gorgeous, wasn't she? 1 Quote

chris_b Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Sorry, spelt his name incorrectly. . . . still isn't Emilio Castillo. . . . he's not black. Doesn't look like Doc Kupka either, but this was a long time ago, so I'm less certain about that. Edited 1 hour ago by chris_b 1 Quote

I'm not sure why I even posted that - I was just generally copying and pasting! I've actually met him after a TOP gig back in the 90's, when he was clearly holding a Tenor in his hands. Regarding the Bari player, although plenty on that thread are saying it is Doc Krupa, I think it might be Jim Horn, but who knows? I've tried hunting down the musicians on that concert, but all the searches throw up are the Rhythm section names and the backing singers names. A shame that the blowers aren't listed at all. 1 Quote
chris_b Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago My first thought was Jim Horn. Looks close. . . . Quote
