Tjhooker Posted Monday at 16:12 Posted Monday at 16:12 has anyone had any experience with these? I recently got a harley benton one https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_amp_iso_2.htm I'm really amazed at the thing! on a hollow wooden stage it made a huge difference in sound and tone Quote
Hellzero Posted Monday at 18:49 Posted Monday at 18:49 Living in a very old house with wooden floors, I've been using the Auralex and then the Harley Benton with great success to tame the bass end of amps a lot. Quote
Tjhooker Posted Monday at 21:18 Author Posted Monday at 21:18 yeah it definitely does that. on a wooden stage that I have played on a number of times I noticed that I would have to cut the bass on my amp to about 10 o'clock lock from 12 o'cloc... with the harley benton mat I found I could actually boost bass and it still sounded way cleaner / clearer with much less boom Quote
BigRedX Posted yesterday at 08:10 Posted yesterday at 08:10 I stopped using mine because on the one stage where it should have made a vast improvement to the sound, it was negligible but it did make my bass rig wobble about alarmingly in time with the kick drum pedal. @Bill Fitzmaurice should be along with the science as to why they aren't really worth it. BigRedX Posted yesterday at 08:16 Posted yesterday at 08:16 I have made a useful isolation platform for decoupling the acoustic noise produced by playing an electronic drum kit from the fabric of the building so my band could rehearse at my house without annoying the neighbours too much, but it was a significantly more substantial construction than a piece of plywood supported on two bits of "acoustic" foam, 1 Quote
Jack Posted yesterday at 14:15 Posted yesterday at 14:15 I've never taken mine to a gig but I use a QSC wedge to practice at home. The old wooden floors could scratch the bottom of the wedge and they also vibrate. It's great. 1 Quote

I will look out for it on other gigs though. so far I've tested it on that gigs / stage I know well and a new venue with a concrete floor that I'm unsure if the iso mat did anything at all to improve tone Quote
