Brian18242 Posted yesterday at 00:15 Posted yesterday at 00:15 I have been looking for a jazz bass with matching headstock in fiesta red for sometime and recently found the vintage VJ4. Thoughts? Build quality silimar to squire? Lightweight or on the heavy side? Quote
police squad Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago The Vintage brand has made quality instruments over the years. I have 3 6 stringers at the moment and they are all good guitars My brother had a P bass type that I bought for him and it was easily gig worthy out of the box I've gigged all mine with no mods, straight from the box with only a tweak of the action and truss rod Quote
kwmlondon Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Very underrated instruments, from what I understand. Quote
HeadlessBassist Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Some of the JHS Vintage range are very good and excellent value, but watch out for the weight. Some of the P's & J's can be mightily heavy. Quote
Lozz196 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Not had one of those but the Vintage Tony Butler Precision I had was very good, these are similar pricing so would assume same quality. Quote
Sean Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I bought a Vintage guitar from GAK about 6 years ago, it was absolutely shocking, the routing, the neck joints, fretwork etc. Everything that could have been wrong was wrong. It went back to GAK and Dennis Drumm from JHS (the brand boss) was in touch to apologise and they put it right within days, sending out a replacement that had been set up with my choice of strings and some extra goodies thrown in. The replacement guitar was really outstanding, and JHS stands by its products 100%. I've also dealt with JHS and Dennis over one of the Vintage ProShop guitars. Now, they are very good indeed, that one is a keeper. 2 Quote
