TeresaFR Posted Friday at 22:45 Posted Friday at 22:45 I'm curious whether there are any basses out there that combine all three of these characteristics, and not simply one or two? There are clearly a growing number of multiscale headess basses, but I've never heard of any that were also neck-thru - maybe there's a technical limitation that would prevent such a construction method? So, I thought I'd ask all of you; does such a bass exist, and if not, is there a scientific reason why not? Thank you. Quote
itu Posted Friday at 23:20 Posted Friday at 23:20 No, there are no technical limitations. This has all the features you asked for: https://www.kdbasses.com/basses/rev-ii-5-string-multi-scale-headless/ 1 Quote
MichaelDean Posted yesterday at 06:51 Posted yesterday at 06:51 Overload Guitars in Italy do them too. https://www.overloadguitars.com/basses 1 Quote
Wolfram Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago They are a rare beast, but absolutely no technical reason they can't be made. Kiesel's Vader Bass ticks all the boxes with the right configuration, and if you go custom built then Sei and Shuker definitely make them, as I'm sure could many other luthiers. 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago If you like like challenges, there are also some fretless headless neck through multiscale basses out there too... Nothing is indeed impossible. Quote
binky_bass Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago And make it a 9 string bass... with triplet strings, so a 27 string... double neck. So 54 strings... fretless, headless, neckthru, multiscale... 1 Quote

Dood Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) In answer to the OP, Here's Ned Steinberger's latest: https://thinkns.com/instrument/ns-design-fin-electric-bass-guitar/ Edited 1 hour ago by Dood Quote

Built specifically to upset other bass players, naturally! Quote
