tauzero Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I had a 200MB for years, the original speaker expired and I put a replacement in that wasn't as good, eventually found I could get a Pyle speaker identical to the original so got that and it was good again. I eventually found I wasn't using it any more and sold it. Now I find that a tiny combo weighing just over my 10kg limit would fill my needs for some things I'm doing, and @Thornybank pointed me at one at Fair Deal Music. Dropped in there today, gave it a quick whirl (I'd forgotten just how loud they go), and took it away with me. Jam night tonight so that'll be its first outing. 12 Quote
ajkula66 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 (edited) Lovely amps. But you already know that... I sold mine last year to a good friend who fell in love when I loaned it to him for a small club gig a couple of years ago. Unique little critters these most certainly are, but I've got way too many amps as it is so I can't say that I reaaly miss mine. Enjoy yours. Edited September 18 by ajkula66 Quote
tauzero Posted September 18 Author Posted September 18 Rats. I think it has fallen victim to the dreaded speaker foam brittleness blight. Took it to a jam night tonight and it started getting rattlier and quieter, which is exactly how my previous one went. I shall consult with Fair Deal in the morning. 2 Quote
Merton Posted September 19 Posted September 19 For the last 11 years I’ve been thinking one of these would be perfect for one of my gigs. But now that gig has dried up to maybe 3-4 a year max, so seems a bit pointless! Hope you get yours sorted @tauzero Quote
tauzero Posted September 20 Author Posted September 20 Took it back to Fair Deal today and they've booked it in for a repair after taking the side off (with my assistance) and finding that the speaker had disintegrated, as I'd predicted. Just hope that they can source the correct replacement - I did tell them that Polar Audio stock them. Quote
Sean Posted September 22 Posted September 22 It's good to know Fair Deal has responded accordingly. Quote
BassBod Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Great little amps. I’ve gone back to using the later MB150S..does the job in many gig situations. However, I’m very aware of the speaker edge problem, seems to happen after about 20 years. I’d be very interested in how this is best solved…there used to be replacement drivers available or replacement kits for the foam edge. Can this still be done? Quote
tauzero Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Polar Audio do the replacement Paragon drivers but I don't know whether they've got any in stock. Fair Deal haven't got back to me yet - emailed them on Monday to ask about progress. Quote
