Freddi375 Posted August 25 Posted August 25 (edited) Hi guys I purchased this brand new a few years back during Covid times. I ended up selling it after a year to another Bass chatter as I wasn't getting on with 5 string. Fast forward a couple of years later, and wanting to give 5 another shot, I managed to purchase it back a few months ago. For love nor money I just cant get fully comfortable with 5 strings, especially after playing 25 years on 4 string, and my patience has worn (again!). I have decided to give in and go back to a Fender Jazz 4. It really is a stunning bass, the neck is fantastic and it plays and sounds like a dream. Its still in mint / perfect condition, not a mark on it. This has a slightly smaller body and neck profile compared with the Stingray 5h/special. Weight, is 4.536 kgs on digital scales. This is the real deal, not one of the cheaper versions. These are really hard to get hold of nowadays and rarely come up for sale. This also comes with the official Musicman hardcase which is also in excellent condition. Price: £1500 Trades considered (4 string only) Fender Jazz (preferably elite), but try me EB Stingray MM Sadowsky Sandberg Based in Swindon but willing to meet up within reason. Cheers Freddie Edited September 6 by Freddi375 13 Quote
Freddi375 Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 (edited) Weight is 4.536 based on digital scales. The hand luggage scales I initially used obviously not accurate- apologies. Any questions, let me know. Cheers! Edited August 27 by Freddi375 Quote
Orbs Posted August 29 Posted August 29 That's lovely, can't see it hanging around for too long, GLWTS. 1 1 Quote

HeadlessBassist Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Sorry to hear you haven't adjusted to the fiver, Freddie. On the plus side, the Elite Jazz you sold me a few months ago is stunning. I use it for the live multi-tribute shows regularly. Quote

PsyBean Posted December 11 Posted December 11 This is an amazing bass, I love Sterlings and the 5 is very special. This one looks a peach. A great price too. I'd jump at the chance if had the funds and didn't already have one. Anyone tempted should snap this up. GLWTS. 1 Quote

PsyBean Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Looks USA made to me. Sterling by Musicman has a different logo, see pic, yours is the US logo. Also serial no checks out. What does it say on the back of the headstock? Your pics show the compensated nut which I don’t think are fitted to cheaper Sterlings. I have one of these in natural and yours looks an identical spec. I’d check carefully before you let this go too cheaply. Edited 2 hours ago by PsyBean More info 1 Quote

Jabba_the_gut Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I always wondered what Ernie Ball were thinking when they named their different bass ranges! A cheaper range called Sterling and a premium USA model called a Sterling… I have a USA Sub 5 (which is superb) but the new Sub basses are their budget range made elsewhere. Got really confusing when I had a USA Sub Sterling!!! This Ernie Ball Sterling 5 is a stunning looking bass. I’m very tempted myself… 1 Quote
