AlexDelores Posted Thursday at 10:34 Posted Thursday at 10:34 Any experience using wireless guitar systems alongside wireless IEM systems? We already use Shure PSM300 wireless IEM system and would like to introduce wireless guitars and eventually microphones. Slightly cautious that there would be too much going on and they would interfere with each other? Any thoughts from anyone who’s used/uses both? Also, has anyone any experience with the AKG WMS40 Mini Dual Guitar systems? These look like a good option due to only needing one main ‘hub’ but I’ve had bad experiences with cheaper wireless systems in the past and wondered if anyone can recommend the AKG stuff? Thanks Alex Quote
gazhowe Posted Thursday at 11:16 Posted Thursday at 11:16 I'm using a Sennheiser EW-D guitar wireless system and a Sennheiser XSW IEM wireless system. The guitar wireless receiver and IEM transmitter are housed next to each other in the same 2U rack. I've no experience with AKG equipment. Provided that you aren't using the same frequency for both systems you should be fine. Any performance issues will more likely to due to the quality of system you use and/or environment (i.e. other devices competing for the same frequency band). Do you have any particular concerns or questions about using both types of system together? Quote

On reflection and based on my own experience I should have said: "Provided that you aren't using the same frequency for both systems in theory you should be fine. In reality, a wireless IEM system is more likely to have issues due to either the quality of system used or environment (i.e. other devices competing for the same frequency band)." 😉 Edited Thursday at 17:13 by gazhowe Quote

Thanks Alex I've been using inexpensive wireless bass and IEMs systems together in pub gigs for a few months with no problems. I've would hope the more expensive systems in the OP and comments would be even better. Just added a pro, rebadged Mi-Pro wireless bass system (the t.bone) recently and been testing 3 wireless systems on my new (and first) pedalboard, all coexisting without noticeable noise. * 2.4GHz variable - bass guitar * 2.4GHz fixed (afaict) - stereo IEMs * 5.8GHz variable - pedaboard to amp Quote

AlexDelores Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago Thanks all, Appreciate everyone’s feedback. We’ll go for the AKG and see how we get on. Nice to just hear people use both in relatively small stages without much issue. 🙌 Quote
Jack Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Done plenty of gigs with 3x guitar wireless and 3x wireless IEMs. No problems as long as you plan properly. 1 Quote
