I nearly bought a dolphin grey Aerodyne in PMT, but the setup was so bad I couldn't bond with it.

Weird, I imported mine from Japan. It was still in tune when I got it.

The action was huge, I don't think it had seen even a rudimentary setup

Yeah. Unless there was a serious issue with it, surely an allen key & screwdriver would have sorted that out?

Probably but it was so badly set up as to be unpleasant rather than just requiring effort.
