Asllan Pizzatto Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Good evening, friends. Here's the thing: I bought a set of Rotosounds SH77s a few months ago. I took it to my luthier, he put the strings on, and right away I noticed that the G string had an "old string" sound, completely dull. Well, I asked the dealer here in my country for a replacement string and they gave me a brand new set. My luthier put them on, and when I got home, the G string was dull again... Now I'd like to know what could be happening. I tried taking the string off and putting it back on, and I didn't see any difference. Maybe my problem is with the Badass Bass bridge or the tuning machines. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? I've read elsewhere that it's a problem that can happen with Fenders... By the way, my bass is a Japanese Fender Steve Harris. Quote
Doctor J Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I had this problem with E strings many years ago and stopped buying Rotosounds. That solved it. Quote
BigRedX Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago IME Rotosound strings "go off" even if they are just sat in their packets on the rack in the musical instrument store. Either switch to a different brand, or only buy Rotosound strings direct from Rotosound at their stand at a music instrument show and fit them within a couple of weeks of purchase. Quote
