I've just stumbled across this upcoming 2025 tour of Quadrophenia.

It might be worth pointing out that she won't see Pete and Roger swanning around wearing White tights and Cod pieces. Probably professional Ballet dancers performing to a score based around the music of Quadrophenia.

As much as I adore The Who and Quadrophenia I have little time for these orchestral reworkings... Alfie Boe singing Love Reign O'er Me is hard to erase from memory...

 

So I didn't have high hopes for this. In fact I thought the whole thing seemed a bit ridiculous. Until I saw the trailer the other day and it actually looks to be very impressive. The brief snippets of the score sound utterly majestic.

 

A comment from someone who's already seen it advises it's about as authentic a ballet as Tommy is an opera, so make of that what you will!

I’ve never watched a ballet, modern dance yes, but not classical. However, I have tried with opera, but Carmen notwithstanding, it’s not for me. Then again, I’m not big on musicals either.
