However... if in doubt just update/replace the current firmware!  This appears to have refreshed it.

"Have you tried switching it off then on again?"

Seriously, I am glad you have got it sorted.

Restarts did nothing for the last 2 months, inc creating new scenes and then doing a wipe/factory reset; it took a new download/upload of the same Firmware.  The alternative was send back to GuitarGuitar for them to send back to A&H and be without a mixer for weeks.

I have just got a CQ-18T and I am impressed. I worked in pro audio for years before I retired, so have a lot of experience of larger scale digital, but this little thing is very capable. I’d have killed to have something like this when I got started doing band sound in the mid 90’s!

The only thing missing from my POV is subgroups with full eq for things like groups of lav mics, but I can live without and it would be a nice bonus if they add them in a firmware update. (Some flexible busses that could be either be an aux or a subgroup would be perfect)

Agreed! They really are a great piece of kit!

Yes, I know - I’ve already added my 2p’s worth. Either the ability to un-route a channel from the LR mix (I.e. to fake a subgroup by feeding a post-fade aux into a spare channel) or a multifunction aux/subgroup implementation.

I think the outcome is probably as much a marketing & product range segmentation issue as anything technical.

Very dull topic……… just bought a CQ18T.        What do people put these on when mixing from a small stage?  Be great to have a bit more space but with a dozen XLRs connected I need a stable stand for it. 😬

A music stand with the top angled almost flat to take the desk; get one like this and you can even feed the cables through the holes.

Thanks for that

I was rather worried that with the weight of all the cables something like this might be a little vulnerable to tipping over.  Thought something with 4 legs might be required .......  But if something this simple does the trick ........ 👍

Switched the desk wifi on our CQ18T from 2.4Ghz to 5.0 Ghz at our gig tonight.. The personal mix apps on the band members' phones worked flawlessly with no drop outs for the first time.

Yes, 5GHz is rock solid. There are two reasons for that, firstly the 2.4GHz band is shared with Bluetooth as well as cheaper radio mics and IEMs. Secondly, on 2.4GHz, the channels overlap. On 5GHz there is a guard band in between each channel. So while in theory 2.4GHz foes further, because of the congestion, it is a permanent traffic jam.

Having used the CQ18t at rehearsals and now 1 gig, I'm impressed.

Still a big learning curve to get the best out of it, but even at "idiot" level it's a step up from my analogue mixer.

I bought the CQ18t rather than the cheaper CQ20 as I wanted the reassurance of a hardwired screen and controls over relying on an network connection.   During an extensive test yesterday, predominantly to check base line settings for the whole PA and to set up some basic EQ for FOH and the bass, the remote iPad controller, glitched and would not connect to the PA.  So, without the inbuilt UI, mid gig Id have been completely screwed.

Looks like I went for the right option!!!
