A fairly well respected bass in its day, the 80's Vox White Shadow certainly has the fretless 'mwah' tone in spades. The good: The neck is beautiful and the truss rod was professionally repaired a few years back - actually i think there will be a thread on the repair lurking on here somewhere. Not sure what pickup i put in some years back but it seems good and it does have a Sandberg preamp fitted, Vol, Treble & Bass - push/pull for passive. Excellent 'mwah'...i mean really good 'mwaaaaaaah', lots of tonal variety too with the preamp. Plays nice, low action. Made in Japan. The bad: The body is 'dog rough'. It could do with a refinish although i used as is, albeit briefly when i found very quickly i couldn't play fretless well. It looks like it had a primer and was never completely finished. It was my intention to do it one day but never got around to it and then simply forgot. Stickers are easily removable. Cheap nice playing fretless if you don't mind the body. £130 posted in the UK, will knock some off if collecting from Plymouth.
