Basschat app installed on my phone??

Hi all, I wanted to save a basschat oage to my home screen of my Samsung phone

I selected the options in my browser "save to home screen"

And I got a message asking me to install the basschat app. I clicked yes without really reading it. And then a basschat app installed in my phone.

Is there such a thing as a basschat app? I cannot find it in the play store? I am a bit concerned

That's right, cheers - it's not perfect, more of an experimental feature I think at this stage

I just read this and added the Basschat app to my home screen 😃

It works quite well but I can't get the 'badge' notifications to work any more. I'll keep messing with it.

It is presumably a PWA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_web_app), i.e. the website is saved on your phone and adapts to the screen size to make it more app-like. 
This was the original plan for iPhone app development until the App Store appeared with iOS 2.

And a spammer isn't going to give you any useful info either, especially one I just kicked out.

For reference, anyone who resurects a year+ old topic, quotes a post and says 'thanks for the info', just expand the quote, you will find that they have put a load of links at the bottom that you dont' see as it is all collapsed.
