Cheapest way to send a bass to Northern Island, fully insured?

Just make 100% sure that any insurance does actually cover the value of the bass. Many exclude instruments or have low limits but will still allow you to buy the insurance. The only time I bought a bass from Northern Ireland it worked out cheaper to get an easyjet flight over and collect it. I think I paid less than £50 and the seller met me at the airport. Cheapest quote I had was well over £100. It won’t work for everyone but I am ‘lucky’ enough to live 15 minutes from an airport.

Thanks T-Bay,

Yeah, my quote was for £75 fully insured for a £500 bass.

Matey thinks it should be half that.

He is having a laugh, £75 sounds very reasonable as long as it covers what you need it to. The bass I picked up was a lot more expensive but I couldn’t get a quote even close to £100, from memory I think about £130 was the cheapest.

I would probably send with parcelforce and buy separate insurance with https://www.secursus.com — taking care to follow the secursus shipping instructions to the letter.

This should be about £15 for the shipping plus £5 for the insurance.

You could try this company. They go by the imaginative name of N I Parcels.I've used them before to send parcels to UK mainland.https://www.niparcels.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3uGqBhDdARIsAFeJ5r0DLU4v0X_KRv1EX6j68xWiiBDGdVhiE115lCyQT7Khuf_9rQRTk5EaArrVEALw_wcB
