Rehearsal Space near Sunbury

Hi all

We are looking for a rehearsal space near Sunbury, as the space we usually use (Airplay) has closed recently. Unfortunately, we are a bit spread out (between Farnham and Princes Risborough & in-between) - any one have any good suggestions/recommendations?

We are a 5 piece covers band.

Any help greatly appreciated

Pat

If you can't find any space why not try Sonobus? it's a free app that works with any OS (Win, Mac, Linux) and lets you rehearse online.

https://sonobus.net/

All you need is:

- Computer

- Audio Interface (Even that little behringer guitar link thingy)

- Headphones

- Any Effects unit for amp modeling

- Drummer needs a e-drum kit

That ensures you don't need a physical space if you can't find a rehearsal room.

Another alternative app is Jamulus.

That's a shame about airplay I've used them a lot over the years used to be ideal when i worked in Stains and living in Kingston but since moving to woking i'd found alternatives which hopefully would suit you too.

Powerhouse this is new haw ( they call it addlestone)  https://www.powerhouse-studios.co.uk/

A Proper old fashioned ( you know what I mean by this ) rehearsal space in the bank end of a Coachworks …. they have some nice/ massive rooms with good kit and less nice and small rooms with significantly less nice kit .
Favorite of mine as I bring my own gear, but the bass amps are usable n a pinch and PA's are more than good enough.  Parking can get a bit tight but its free and the secret is to get there just after 7  as all the lurking mums in 4X4' have picked up their kids from the dance studio opposite and use their spots.

Water Rats in woking  https://www.waterrat.co.uk/desktop_index.html

This one is nicer but has quite limited parking and kind of feels like a school / college rehearsal space  much cleaner and more professional but harder to book and a little more pricey .

Failing that theres tweeters in leatherhead which I've not used personally but exists  http://tweeters.ltd.uk/studios.html  or there's also pirate studios  in Earsfeild if you fancy a train ride into town.

I'd take Tweeters over Powerhouse.  Unless you're local and using back roads, getting to that part of town is an absolute pain.

Tweeters is 5 mins off m25.  The three downstairs rooms are a decent size.  If you're rehearsing outside of usual business hours, there's plenty of parking.  There's also a big tesco 3 mins away if you get hungry.

The car park at powerhouse is awful.  As soon as it rains, the car park is full of huge puddles, which isn't fun when loading in.  Also, the one time I rehearsed, there was a lot of mains noise and bleed from other rooms.  They do have a small recording studio and reasonable looking live room.

I never liked Airplay that much - always a pain to park and the rooms were a bit depressing. The only other places I've used local to Sunbury are:

RnR in Uxbridge  http://www.rnrstudios.co.uk/ was my regular space for most of my bands.

West Star in High Wycombe https://shttps://www.weststarstudio.com/ but I haven't been there for probably 10 years

If I lived in Sunbury and I joined a local band who ended up rehearsing in High Wycombe, I'd feel a little hard done by.  M3, followed by worst section of M25 and M40.

I was living in Harrow, and rehearsed in Sunbury when I had bandmates living in Whitton and Chertsey.  When I used High Wycombe it was because we couldn't find something local to the band (Hayes, Harrow and Wembley) but it was a bit of a trek because West Star is closer to West Wycombe.

More to the point one of the OP bandmates lives in Princes Risborough so High Wycombe is local(ish) to them and one lives in Farnborough so I assume they would go via the A404.

I've never been in a band where we all lived in the same post code - except when I was overseas and we all lived in portacabins on the same compound.
