Stopping heads sliding off tilted back cabs

Faced with tiny venues that put me on top of my cab, and so entertaining my ankles not my ears I coughed up for a stand, a Qiklok BS317 from Andertons. But.. how to stop my amp sliding off the now entilted cab top?  After considerable umming and erring and fooling about with bungee cords I settled on slotting the amp vertically into a small Hercules guitar stand and shoving it under the cab. Downsides: my footprint is four times the cab on end on the floor and I'm not wholly convinced I haven't lost most of my bassy oomph. We shall find out next practice.

Just sits on top of the cab with the shorter edge over the front of the cab and Bob's year whatsit.

Pointing cab up like that gives you a mega shot of the mids that were entertaining your calves. That's not losing low end as the cab is still well inside the range where the floor reflection sums with the port and front waves.

I just hang the front 2 amp feet over the front of the cab, while the rear feet stay say on the top.

Why can't you sand your cab on its side?  

 

As has been said, you aren't far enough off the floor to lose bottom end.

My solution using the IKEA laptop stand. I modified it a bit 🙂 Removed some of the larger plastic lip and trimmed it round the cab corners.

Works a treat. The larger lip curves back on itself a little and is perfect for hooking over the front of the cab but I didn't like it covering the grill and speaker, hence the "mod".
