It's back!!

I sold an original earlier in the year but now I've seen this I've forgotten all the reasons for letting it go in the first place and might have to get it.

The pitch modulation works particularly well with bass.

£149 pre order is much cheaper than I'd have expected. Hoping this isn't just a limited edition and there will be plenty to go around

I had an original one in the 90's, but never found the chorus that terrific for bass, but the flanger was indeed great. Now I have the JAM pedals Waterfall (Bass edition) which is just what I need as a chorus and a great vibrato too.

Yep, maybe not the best chorus for bass but the PM mode works brilliantly with fretless. It's also very controllable. And this reissue is much cheaper than I thought it was going to be, I sold my original for a lot more.

Indeed. If I remember correctly, I sold mine for 250 Euros in late 90's early 2000's...

 

That said the delivery time for this reissue is ... 28 weeks, so better ordering now to be sure to get one, for those interested.

I know this thread is years old, but I thought it worth resurrecting rather than starting a new one.

 

Has anyone actually tried the reissue on bass? Given how popular the old one was (I know, back then, chorus options were limited), I’ve been mega surprised to find pretty much zero demos of the reissue on bass.

 

Someone must have given it a whirl and can compare it to the other big players in the bass chorus world?

However, I think it’s great for my home guitar stereo setup. Unlike my Boss bass chorus it outputs both channels with modulation instead of the usual dry/wet outputs. Got it new from Andertons & not even a hint of maybe sending back which I do if I’m not completely sure if something.

For bass I usually use my Moog Flange which is my favourite.

Cool. I’m particularly interested in how it stands up in mono as a chorus on bass. Low end retention? Enough bite to give it the presence of stuff like the Julia, Waterfall or Anadime etc.

 

Appreciate any insight you have. Unrelated, but did you get the black or gold enclosure. Interested if the bling of the gold is cool enough to justify it actually costing more! Ha

 

The fact that this pedal was once so loved and has come down in price (almost unheard of) is unusual. £69 new is pretty excellent.

Black one but wasn’t too bothered as price was right & I always wanted to try one .. not tried the ones you mentioned but can maybe try compare to two chorus pedals I do have .. tbc

The original was powered by an internal PSU. The signal chain had a compander (like dbx, Dolby, or Telcom). Therefore the noise level was super low: signal goes to compressor, then it is processed (analog) and finally expanded to outputs (full delay, and half of it to make it sound like a stereo unit). 

 

By the way, this pedal was also available in rack format as 1210. 

(tce had many interesting units at that time like 1140, 1144, 2240, 1220, 1280, 1380, 2290, programmable Phaser XII and XII B/K, dual parametric pedal...)

Yeah, I used to own the 1210. And everything above is kinda the point of my question… all the guitar reviews say “it’s as good as the original, despite the changes”, but there’s no bass comparisons out there at all. Which is odd, given how long it’s been out.

 

I’m just interested in the experiences of anyone that has the reissue and has compared it to other chorus pedals.
