Nail Soup
Been listening to a few recommended tracks after Alan sad passing. Indeed those do have great bass sound and presence with the aforementioned drive. Occurred to me that the guitar parts in Quo allow 'space for the bass' - generally using a pair of Telecasters. gazhowe
RIP Alan. BTW - really poor effort from Sky News this morning by reporting his passing with a video of Quo with Rhino Edwards on bass. 😐(No disrespect to Rhino)

chris_b
Sad news. We supported them several times in the early 70's. They were a force of nature and Jeez were they loud!

The harmonica in Railroad caused me pain and I couldn't hear properly for days. Saw them loads of times back then - as you excactly say, a force of nature.
