Burns-bass Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 (Firstly, move this if itās interesting he wrong category - I couldnāt figure out what was right). Iāve been asked to record some backing basslines and share them as MP3s with some band mates.Ā Ā Iāve got some super gear but no idea what I need to do this. Iāve got a nice MacBook with GarageBand and an iPad Pro, so guessing either of these would be fine.Ā Ā Iāll be recording an electric upright bass through a Fishman preamp, or 60s jazz which has quite low output pickups. Ā Budget wise I donāt want to spend huge amounts. Itās a bit of fun during lockdown. Links to things I can buy is best. Quote
Mudpup Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 This will be fine - its all you need and half the price of most of the competitionĀ https://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_u_phoria_umc22.htm Quote

RichardH Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Looks like a version of the FocusRite Scarlett. Let us know how you get on with it - I really like my Scarlett, but a cheap version would be handy to recommend to bandmates... Quote
Burns-bass Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 Will do! Iām very much a beginner at recording so trial and error I guess.Ā Quote
therealting Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Thatās a great price for a starter interface and perfectly adequate for recording basic demos with your mates. Quote
Mudpup Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 I've got oneĀ - its fine, has a midas preamp on the XLRĀ and the direct monitor switch is good. Perfectly useable. 1 Quote
