That's why I put it in quote marks.There are however inconsistencies throughout, which a session player would not have left in. Sure, the finished thing wouldn't have sounded the same, but that's not why you would get a top session player in.

Krist Novaselik is actually a very good musician, much the same as Cliff Williams he often plays the fifth note rather than the root which compliments the music. Both these players are often derided for their simple bass lines but that's what the music calls for.
