ahh sorry to hear you didnt get on with the pulse synth man.

Anyone that wants a 'real' bass synth, id recommend the pulse synth, dirty as f*** synthy tone, it would still be with me if i hadnt decided to sell everything but my bass

the same model would cost in the region of £250 to buy new, so i think for £125 its a smashing deal already :)

I think it's as noisy as every other Worm, tbh. They're notorious for it.

I don't know whether it would get better with a switching power supply? The EHX one is pretty lo-tech. It's 18V, btw.
