If you google these[attachment=20632:pf_C2802.jpg] opinions are mixed, however I used one to solder cable on a jack plug and it was fine, although I would not use it to go attaching components on a circuit board. You need to avoid pressing too hard although spare tips are available now. It's portable, heats up almost instantly, has a light on the end and I carry one in my toolbag to gigs. These are £5.99 each from JML Direct plus £4.95 p&p and I'm doing them for £6.99 plus £2.00 p&p, a saving of nearly £2.00!
