Hi all

Well, where to start......

I started playing around about 20 years ago. Usual thing, mates played guitar but nobody played bass etc, etc. I've been playing on and off since then, some years spent on guitar, some doing nothing!

Had many a bass over the years. Started with a Hohner P copy, Epiphone power bass, Aria Pro 2 thunderbird style thing (great sound but horrid shape), Fender Jazz, Wal custom that I paid £565 for from Carlsboro in Nottingham in 1993 (a 1983 model I think and it still hurts that I sold it ;) :P ) a Hofner 500/3 (I think, the president shaped one. I still have 3 other Hofner six strings). A couple more P bass copies, a Squier 5 string and now a very battered but nice sounding Westone Thunder 1A!

Amp wise I've had some absolute sheds but for the last few years I've had a Peavey TNT115. It's the second one I've had actually. The first one was the wedge shaped monitor version I bought at the same time as the Wal.

Band wise I've done a bit of all sorts, contemporary rock and pop, 50's and 60's etc, etc. Nothing too serious but done a fair few gigs over the years. Our band is just getting back together after a break of about 4 years so the cobwebs are still somewhat attached.

I'll be after some advice on gear so i'll speak to you all again very soon.

Cheers

Hello again

I'm afraid I've got to update my gear listing already. :P

I was casually looking at bass amps in a local music shop when out of the corner of my eye I was seduced by an absolutely beautiful Pearl blue metallic 3 band eq Musicman Stingray. Now I've always liked (and wanted) a Stingray but have never actually got around (had the cash) to get one.

Well needless to say, it was love at first sight/feel and I am now the proud owner of a long held holy grail of a bass ;)

Next thing is the new amp which is what I originally went out to look at. I'm after a combo that is smaller but louder than my current Peavey TNT115 (I now have a saloon car and although the boot is huge, the small opening makes getting the Peavey in and out without the use of goose grease quite tricky)!!!!!!!!! The Peavey TNT is the model before the red decals model. It's the one with the single horizontal silver strip along the bottom (approx 650w x 650h x 350deep).

I'm thinking of possiby a Trace :) (obviously second hand following todays assault on the bank balance).

Cheers
