Fender Japan JV Precision P Bass in RARE Candy Apple Red all original (not Squier JV) CAR *OPEN TO OFFERS*
£1350
North London

Recommended Posts

Reluctant sale of my beloved Candy Apple Red Fender JV P bass. OPEN TO OFFERS. (Be quick before I change my mind...)

More photos to follow early next week.

Reason for sale: I have found myself with 3 Ps and I have my eyes on a unique P bass and can’t justify 4 Ps. I know I’ll regret this sale.

This thing has done me well. Played many a gig from small clubs to big festival stages, always strung with flats (except a short period this year where I had rounds on it) never has it sounded anything but great. Nothing plays like this thing and it sure sounds huge!

You already know about JV Fenders so no need to explain. I got this Via Pierre from Bass Freaks at the very beginnings of his shop. (I think I was one of his first customers) Essentially he sourced this direct from Japan a good 4 to 5 years ago for me. (I hope he doesn’t mind me name dropping). He still has only come a cross a couple other CAR P basses since finding this one.

It’s all original, except for the addition of the thumb rest that was done at The Bass Gallery the year I bought it, and has been very well looked after. It was recently set up at The Gallery and is strung with Thomastik flats. Plays wonderfully as you’d expect.

It’s in good condition considering it’s age. There is a few dings and scratches but nothing serious. The worst of it is some dings on the top where your right arm rests but it is by no means bad, just a small portion of paint missing. Nothing to worry about, I just want to be clear and honest. (photos to follow in the next few days). The neck is in very very good condition, as is the fretboard.

The fretboard is a lovely dark piece of rosewood.

I have played it next to a 1963 P bass and this really does do it as well as the original.

Anyways. Enough blabbing. More photos will follow, I’m out on a tour so I have a few photos from gigs etc of the bass. Some proper photos will follow early next week.

Please do contact me if you want to send me offers, or want more photos. I’m open to it.

Will supply a generic hardcase with it. Will happily restring it with Rounds if the sale is made free of charge.

based near Alexandra Palace, North London.

Not the one on martin’s site! However I think I may eventually take it down here and bring it in there.

Fender have a nice CS thing that I want to get from them that was possibly the nicest P bass I’ve played in ages! It’s essentially a transition period J neck on a P bass body (but roasted)

This must be a rare one. I’ve never seen the spaghetti logo on 83’s and there’s normally the words Squier Series by the G peg.

Great colour.

GLWTS.

I know this is an old post but I don’t believe that neck is the original neck for this bass. JV serial numbers were from 82 to 84. And when Fender Japan first said they wanted to do a Medium Scale Bass, model PB-331, Fender told them they can only do it with the Squier decal on the headstock. It wasn’t until later in the 80s that you saw some medium scale p bases with the fender logo on the headstock.
I could be wrong but, what’s the date stamp on the neck?

I am selling a great sounding and nice to play classic Jazz Bass: Alder Body, Pao Ferro Fretboard, Fender Vintage PUs, 4 Kg, nice aging.   The Bass was build around 2010/11 in the first Line of the Roadworn Series. The Parts are all american but the Bass was assembled in Mexico. Its a great Jazz Bass with Vintage Feel and classic vintage Jazz Bass Sound, that always fits in the mix.    EU Shipping is no problem, feel free to ask any Questions.

      Hello,
      PRICE DROP ! Now £480 / 550€

PLEASE be aware that as the bass is in France, there might be import charges or delay to the UK.
No probs with the rest of Europe.
For sale is this rather uncommon Yamaha SuperBass800, made in Japan in 1978 and still in very good condition.

      - Alder body
      - 1 piece quartersawn maple neck with natural white block inlays, gloss finish
      - 42mm nut : a Jazz bass with a Precision neck
      - "Progressive" headstock and back of neck design 😎
      - 4 to 4.1kg : under 9lbs
Following the Yamaha BB serial chart, the SB800 was made in 1978.
It has the same sturdy bridge and general construction as the BroadBass series with 2 jazz pickups : Vol / Vol / Tone
The neck pickup has a Precisionesque tone, it is overall quite woody.
      Absolutely no buzz.
It is just back from the luthier for a general check-up and set up : the trussrod works fine but is almost to a maximum, set up with 45-105s.

Here is for the neck :

In the broad bass body category :

      Asking for £480 / 550€
      Shipping is not a problem.
      Options to be discussed.
I can include a brand new Gator GL lightweight case worth 55€ as I prefer not so ship with neck off.
Any questions or further pics needed, please ask.
      Cheers

£799 (ono) delivered in UK only, or pick up from Brighton.
Through gritted teeth I am selling my Flea Road Worn Jazz Bass. It's a long story, but I ended up buying two Road Worns at the same time, and I prefer the red one. I'd like to keep a stack-knob too, but my bank would disapprove and my wife would leave me.
Nice dark rosewood board, faded shell pink lacquer, CS64 pups and weighs 4.1kg according to the bathroom scales. Comes in a new-looking Fender gig bag.
Full disclosure: This is a 2016 bass, but with a (genuine, new) 2020 replacement body purchased from Stratosphere in the US [eBay listing here].
It is 100% stock apart from:
Kiogon solderless loom replacing the original pots and wiring * Genuine Fender brass external earthing strip (purely decorative) Genuine Fender Road Worn strap button on rear of headstock (largely decorative). * Knobs and plate are original, only pots and wiring are changed - shout if you'd like the originals included.
You probably won't like my wussy light strings and cig-paper action, so allow for that. The neck is straight and the truss works just fine. All the electrical bits work just fine and sound ace.
Here's the official spec page: https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-basses/jazz-bass/artist-jazz-bass/flea-jazz-bass/0141020356.html
Ask about any other stuff if you like. I'm open to offers but not silly ones, as I need to recoup some costs.
      More pics:
