The proof of the pudding...Harry has hardly been here since the bass arrived...

:)
...actually, that's more to do with the fact that his internet is completely down and has been since the weekend ;)

Yes this was my bass, bought it new and the weight immediately killed it so it went to Harry.

I've only just seen this thread today. B| Hats off to you Andy, that's an amazing conversion sir :hi:

I have 2 new Harley Benton Stingray-alikes sitting in my loft bedroom gathering dust because they are boat anchors, one is the 2 pickup version. Fantastic sounding basses but no good to me.

What kind of cost is involved in just removing weight without all the painting and cover making?

Otherwise they'll be going up for sale.

I'll PM you.

Interestingly, in the 'Bass Guitars' section of the forum there's someone else looking to lighten a Stingray...

Glad you bumped this, I missed it first time around.

Absolutely inspirational.

Also great for us HB fans to have someone who really knows what they're talking about to pronounce on their inherent quality.

I have a HB Jazz which is heavy but plays and sounds so nicely. Often wonder what could be done about it, and now I know!
