Dutfield Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Here's my lovely Stentor Student double bass for sale. It has a solid top and composite sides/back. Recently set up and serviced by Thwaites of Watford. It has a Realist pickup, an adjustable bridge and comes with a bow and a gig bag. She's in very good condition but does have a few little chips. This is a great bass for someone who's just starting out or as a gigging workhorse. Andy Wall Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Hi. I'm interested how does she sound when bowed. I'm looking for a workhorse to cover both jazz and classical?

I don't play it with the bow a huge amount but I've heard it played with the bow by my Greg (who posted above) and it sounded wonderful to my ears. Adjustable bridge means you can quite easily set it up to suit your needs. Cheers, Harry
hubrad Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Good basses, these.. here's me doing a demo video some time ago, the bass being freshly unpacked and set up. I see there's a realist pickup (use this myself) and an adjustable bridge on the one for sale.. are the strings original (as in video) or did you change those, too? That can also make a big difference to tone and response. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DFlTWfYF1A

It is a really nice bass, especially since it was set up by Thwaites. It has the original strings on it.
