ash Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Something of a flagship bass for Peavey at the time the US made Dyna bass featured quality tone woods a through neck, schaller hardware and active electrics. This bass is all original and a lovely player, frets are good, action low and the ebony board is a dream to play. It balances well and weighs around 9lbs. Minor cosmetic scratches and dings and a paint chip on the upper rear of the neck. Comes with original Peavey case. No trades sorry - unless you have a Markbass (Italian version) head in very good condition no other amps considered sorry don't ask please I can post in the UK only at buyers cost pickup is preferred. Thunderbird Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Did some work on one of these for someone once and had to have a go and I am no Peavey fan but thought it was a great playing and sounding bass and this seems a good price for one I have seen a few idiots on ebay wanting £500 for one of these GLWTS
kodiakblair Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I know this particular bass well and agree it's a great player. GLWTS
ash Posted December 26, 2016 Author Posted December 26, 2016 Thanks yes it's a really nice bass it was filthy when I bought it and needed a bit of TLC and decent strings, it plays and sounds great now! A lot of bass for not much money the thing is with Peavey's is their reliability and excellent build quality it's a shame more people don't recognise what superb instruments they made in the US. The T40 basses are quite sought after but are incredibly heavy and rather cumbersome in comparison to the sleek ergonomics of some of their later basses. I do like the T40 but my shoulder doesn't
jassbass Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 Very tempted if my bass collection jazz sells
ash Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Bump as I said I'd exchange for a Markbass LM head
ash Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Controls are - Volume, master tone, active/passive switch, bass, mid, treble active eq (smaller knobs).
Brother Jones Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017
Controls are - Volume, master tone, active/passive switch, bass, mid, treble active eq (smaller knobs).
Hmm. Isn't that master tone a pickup pan pot?
ash Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 I don't think so I was wondering about pickup selection I will check again but I thought it acted as a master tone in passive mode
kodiakblair Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 The large speed knobs are volume and blend. In passive mode only the treble knob works. Manual link here. https://assets.peavey.com/literature/manuals/80300751.pdf
ash Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 Yes see the amended title. NB the chap who bought it ( not a member here )immediately put it on eBay for far more than he bought it from me for it's probably still there. That's commerce!
