Pickup wiring question

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking to change pickups in my p bass, I have no soldering experience, nor any kit.

But would it be possible to cut the soldered wires on the current pickups, and then cut the new pickup wires, and basically twist the two together to form a connection. Would that work?

Yes, pack up the p/ups and control plate, all of it, and send 'em to KiOgon. He'll fit it all together, solderless for future upkeep, and it'll come back 'tiptop'. I wouldn't recommend messing about with sticky tape, except to try something out 'quick 'n dirty'. Get it done properly by the Expert; your bass is worth it, no..?

Cheers chaps :) I'm never far away ;) & probably no need to send me the bits, a solderless wiring kit means you can change/fit new pick ups in minutes, with no burnt fingers :gas:

Now where's the fun in that!?!
