Ben Jamin Posted June 7, 2016 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) I think we have to appreciate they're mixing to accommodate a whole range of devices - from old tiny televisions to mobile phones to modern TVs with hi-fi sound-systems. But first and foremost they have to consider the devices that are older and/or less capable, as opposed to mixing assuming everyone has a studio-grade TV set-up. Whilst most devices nowadays can handle a full-range audio input (albeit probably not outputting full-range), some cannot. So I'd imagine that means compromising on lower frequencies in order to not blow up your Nan's little box TV. bonzodog Posted June 7, 2016 Share Posted June 7, 2016 It does concern me how music is generally listened to these days from a bass perspective. Cheap TV speakers, mobiles, tablets and laptops. None of which bring out any bass. My nephew who loves listening to music plays it all through his tablet in his bedroom. He's totally oblivious to the lack of bass. Wonky2 Posted June 7, 2016 Share Posted June 7, 2016 My tv runs through 200w kenwood amp ive had for 20 odd years, then out through a Bose acoustamass sub and pair of speakers.... Sounds great... Also have a Bose sound link fof bluftoothing any sounds off ipads laptops or phones... Font even know why they bother putting speakers in these things!
