spencer.b Posted April 18, 2016 Share Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) MATAMP BLACK 410 £300 8 ohms 1400 watts It's the ceramic speaker one,sealed, I was previously using a pair of berg HDs which I loved but I needed a bit more oomph for big stages or gigs without serious PA and this matamp certainly has it, its capable of the kind of thundering low end I've only got from big ported cabs and tight focused low mids that you only get from sealed cabs, I'm selling it cos I have steps up to my house and I do all sorts of gigs often in central london so lugging it around is a bit much for me but, if I was doing more of a regular band thing I'd defintely keep it, imo you'd have to spend a fortune on a big aguilar DB or berg HD to get a big old school sound with loads of power like this. [/quote] Cabs are not like amps; their impedance is fixed (yes, I know; there are very rare exceptions...), as is their power handling. It's either 4 Ohm or it's 8 Ohm, independantly of the 1400w. [/quote] I know I am checking that it is definitely 8 ohm and not 4ohm, mainly because I don't recall seeing such good a high power handling on an 8ohm cab before, but I don't have too much experience in 4x10s.
