bassmayhem
Due to circumstances (a.k.a. GAS) my lovely US Joe Osborn 5 is for sale. The bass is in excellent condition, totally original except for one thing: it is fully shielded. The JO and BG basses from Lakland - top notch instruments - are at the "original bass players" request unshielded. Presumably because "old Fenders never were". Anyhow, without shielding you got the swarm of flies in your sound; now it is nice and quiet and works very well, both in studio and live. I've made the shielding myself, it is removable if you don't like it. (And a little bit visible around the pups...) Anyway, here he is: Blue Joe! No trades! The bass is in Sweden and can be sent at buyer's expense. More pic's on demand. Edited November 7, 2015 by bassmayhem

juliusmonk
My experience is that shielding is a must on Laklands, well done. GLWTS

rodney72a
More pics would be good. Also exact weight. Which year was it made in? Does it come with the original case?

Which year was it made in? Does it come with the original case? [/quote]More pic's will come. Exact weight is difficult; I have no scales. However - it is light. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. (I have a slipped disc...) The original case is there, but unfortunately it is broken on the back side. I have started to repair it, but it will be visible in the tolex. The creme white Lakland cases are good looking, but oh, so fragile. Not like an old Fender case. I got three US Lakies: two have broken cases. I think they are made of cardboard or something similar. No plywood in there!!!

It feels "at home" even for a four string player...
