FS/FT: Warmoth '55 Precision/Telebass **Withdrawn**

Bought last week from The Brig to replace a bass that I subsequently decided not to sell! It is a very very well put together, beautifully finished and resonant instrument. The neck is, to coin a phrase, to die for; beautiful birdseye maple finished to a lovely balance between a varnish and an oil, immaculate fretwork and playability, and the wonderful sense of stability you get from Warmoth parts. The light swamp ash body is beautifully finished and contoured, the tort pickguard finishes it wonderfully, and the bass balances very well.

This is a very very high quality and clean instrument. Warmoth manufacture the finest bass woodwork you'll find this side of a custom build, and the other components (SD QP PUP, Schaller tuners, Gotoh 201 bridge) are all very high quality. As I posted in the original listing, it's a Fender Custom Shop instrument for Fender Modern Player money. In fact it's so well put together and finished I'd almost go so far to call it boutique :)

I'm selling because I've decided to keep my Fender Custom Shop '55, and whilst I'd love to keep this as a back-up the neck is probably too thin for me (it is classic Jazz width and depth), and I've never been very good at looking after immaculate basses!

The Brig clearly knows both how to put a bass together and how to look after it once he has! I've used his original pics below, I'm sure he won't mind. Please ask any further questions in the thread below (original listing here might help also http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1)

Price £450, bass is currently in Aberystwyth, I can post at buyer's expense or meet up anywhere from Aberystwyth via Shrewsbury, Birmingham, London and Canterbury (my commute is a PITA). Trade offers welcome.

Hello mate, long time, hope all's well. Looks lovely but as my current model is a similar shape I'm looking for something a little more Gibson-esque. Many thanks for the offer, no doubt we'll resume trading status again soon :)

Oh bollox  :( I love the look of it but it has to be <8lbs because of my back, sorry mate . GLWTS

Ah, sorry mate. If it's any consolation I'm working on a newly acquired project 70's Telecaster Bass that weighs close to 12lbs, and I have a mid '70s ash hardtail Strat that weighs close to 10lbs. Both make the Warmoth feel like playing a feather :)

Yep, guitarists look visibly stunned when they pick up the Strat. Of course, I then direct them to the Telebass saying "If you think the Strat's heavy try this for size........". The only conclusion that they can arrive at is that bass players are REAL MEN.

Should point out folks that the bass for sale is actually very light, just got a little sidetracked here :)

Bump, will listen to offers, happy to talk trades but don't need any more basses or amps thanks. Studio gear, Hi-Fi, and stringed instruments that don't require amps are all on my radar at present :)

Vintage Fender bridge, no pickguard, lefty Warmoth Tele neck. Think I prefer it this way
