pa monitor as practice amp

with a view to reducing the amount of stuff I have, I'm thinking of selling my practice amp and using an old peavey active stage monitor (which will do its proper job as a monitor at gigs) for occasional lower volume practice. other than it not being the greatest tone is there any reason not to do this ie will it knacker the monitor? cheers

As suggested above, as long as there's no nasty noises you'll be just fine..

Don't expect to rule the world SPL wise or much response below 100Hz but I found quite an acceptable sound using one of these with a zoom 506.

Big compromise in tone expected

Try telling Anthony Jackson that... or Mike Gordon... or Phil Lesh... or...

PA speakers have made some of the most awesome onstage rigs.

Top response! :D

One should never allow accuracy to stand in the way of a good pontificate! ;)
