itu Posted February 12 Posted February 12 @tubbybloke68, is there any chance to get a picture of that fretless? That top looks good. Quote
tubbybloke68 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Here you go! Unfortunately one of its previous owners decided to put the strap holders in different positions, so it has a couple of excess screw holes in it. Shame but shit happens I suppose x 2 1 Quote

itu Posted February 13 Posted February 13 But Mick Karn's was something uncommon, wait... tulip. Wasn't his bass a one off, because of that wood? Quote

RonC Posted March 27 Posted March 27 A new family picture of my 3 Wals together with a new born Claassen bass which I made myself. if you’re interested, here’s the build diary of my tribute to Wal: Wal tribute build diary 13 1 Quote

Mick had two Mk1's: One was tulip, seems he really favored that one. The other one was cherry. Both very rare woods, but a few cherry ones were made, as IIRC the cherry tree came from one blown down in a storm. 2 Quote

Piers_Williamson Posted yesterday at 13:18 Posted yesterday at 13:18 Does anyone get a bit sad when their own Wal turns up second hand. I commissioned this one from Pete the Fish: https://www.andybaxterbass.com/collections/bass-guitars/products/1993-wal-mk2-custom-shedua-facings I'm sort of happy because I have since acquired a slightly older one, in better nick (and at a lower cost)...but the Shedua on my old one is just gorgeous! 2 Quote

I know the pictures tell you all you need to know, but don't you find it odd that the listing here never once mentions that this is a left hand bass? Quote

Forgive me saying, but as soon as I saw the pictures, I knew it was my old bass. I get to look at 100s of right handed basses, knowing they're not for me (and they never say they are right handed😁) 2 Quote

I guess I'm just used to left handed listings making a very clear point of it. You know, because we're only bassists and can't be expected to tell right from left without some help That aside, the Shedua on that is a really quite special!
