clauster
Had to have a look at the joemeek.com website and now I want the sixq (which this comp is taken from) as a preamp. Damn GAS!
cheddatom
Anyone know the difference between "slope" and "compression"?
planethead
Anyone know the difference between "slope" and "compression"?
Slope could be variable knee from hard to soft; compression is probably ratio 1:1 - infinity:1 (or limiting as it used to be known) M2CW
cheddatom
You're probably right, ta! What does M2CW mean?
planethead
Alphanumerically speaking - My 2 cents worth! TTFN

clauster
Cheddatom, I've downloaded the manual - compression = threshold ; slope = ratio (up to 10:1) Edited August 1, 2008 by clauster
cheddatom
Nice one! I would love a compressor pedal with so much control. Why do other people think it's ok to have attack, sustain, and nothing else!
thinman
I use a TFPro preamp/compressor. I think Joe Meek/TF are the same company. It's great - dumped my Ashdown dual band for it.
51m0n
Oooooooohhh Love the TwinQ, my mate's got one in his studio, amazing pre for DI-ing, really warm, lovely eq and comp. This is interesting! A lot of Meek stuff doesn't have a ratio control, assuming slop=ration this would be triffic I think! 51m0n
Holy cow! Hadnt seen this either, that could be the bog's dollocks! Like the even/odd harmonic generation and sweep eq + Q stuff. Edited August 4, 2008 by 51m0n
clauster
Anyone know where you can find these pedals for sale - I really want to try that compressor.
ahpook
i managed to bag a floor q pedal from ebay... i'll let you know how it turns out. between my ebs valve drive and this...maybe i'll be running my bass straight from my pedal board into the power amp from now on... keving
I use a Joe Meek preamp in my studio/practice area so find that gbQ pedal interesting but I can't help thinking that the EQ section will confuse some people. It's a parametric EQ that looks like a graphic
clauster
Jeez, I hadn't anticipated the price very well.
