Due to a complete courier cock-up and through no fault of it's own, up for sale again is this double P Fender Precision bitsa. Was active but now converted to passive with a VVT control setup. I think it simply sounds better this way. I suspect I could split it and sell the parts for more but this bass works so well as a whole I would prefer to keep it together. I've been fiddling and building P bass inspired basses for a while and this is pretty much my ultimate P bass. However, I'm just finding that I'm needing different sounds for the music I'm involved with currently. So, its a P bass, with ...... - A new Fender-licenced Mighty Mite Jazz neck, with new Wilkinson tuners, Genuine Fender decal. - Body is two-piece swamp ash, with a light antique pine stain to enhance the grain. Finished with a Danish oil and wax finish. Immaculate. Small battery cavity on the rear. - extra P pickup. neck pickup is a Duncan SPB-3 in the standard Fender P spot, bridge pickup is a Wilkinson one. - Control cavity is routed larger to accommodate extra electronics, with battery compartment on the rear should you want to fit a preamp. - MIA Fender neck plate - custom tort scratchplate. - Bridge is a very solid MIJ Matsumoku-made Fender-type. - Controls are VVT. Mini-toggles are now just for show !! This bass is immaculate. The only marks of any note at all are a couple of very, very minor marks on the end of the headstock. The bridge is 30 years old but still in great condition. Really beautiful looking bass, and plays as good as it looks. Every string gives a punchy and full tone. A very grunty, resonant bass indeed. No weak E strings here ! Completely knocks the spots off any squire or MIM Fender IMO. A huge bargain IMO at £235 posted to you in a hardcase within mainland UK. Poss P/Ex for Ibanez SR505, or other 5 string with tight string spacing, or try me with any 4 string bass offer. Soundclips of the bass.
