This is not a midi signal which is created from piezo or pickup signal. It has sensors under every fret position which results in latency free midi signal. You can further read from the system from the manufacturer website:

The bass is manufactured in Australia, the bass itself is a warmoth. Body is alder and neck maple/rosewood. Pickups are Nordstrand singlecoils. Painted surf green. The bass sounds really great!

This bass has endless possibilities midi configuration wise. Some sound/performance samples:

The bass cost 3900euros (with shipping from Asustrialia + Estonian customs). Bass comes with hardshell case. My price is 2200euros/1865£

You can offer highend 5-string basses for trade.

Bass is located in Tallinn, Estonia. I can ship it intrenationally and demo its functionality locally :)

Kiwi, you have written a nice overview of the midi bass, I'd post it here.

And you are right that the midi system is very sensitive (jet very adjustable), it forces you to play cleaner to make it sound good, but in the end its good - you will be better player on bass. For me it opened up another level of sensing what I'm doing on the bass guitar. I ran the midi signal from the bass through Moog little phatty for synth bass sounds followed by DSI tetra for arpeggiators + regular bass sound through Mesa. It was MASSIVE :)

That would be my ultimate...! I kind of got there when playing my SB1 through my old Bass 400+ and you're right - huge sound!

If this was a 5 string, I would have bitten your arm off.
