Can anyone help me to identify manufacturer and year it was made ? The weird oblong enclosed tuners were very Columbus, but then other old basses from that era could well have used those, but your best guess of Columbus is probably right The woods look poor enough to be a Columbus, which weren't the best quality, unlike Guyatone or Tokai of the same era, which were much better built Edited September 28, 2013 by fleabag Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

geoffbyrne Posted September 28, 2013 Share Posted September 28, 2013 I'd guess that the neck is Fujigen, as many of the early Antoria/Ibanez basses had a similar truss rod cover, but they (usually) didn't have a plywood body like this, so it may well have been Matsimoku.
