s_u_y_* Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) I bought this bass from a Basschat user about 3/4 years ago. Has Bartolini P/J pickups (which I've been told are stock), and also a very cool Warwick branded flightcase. Looks like it's more likely to damage the floor than the other way around. I preferred the pre-late 90's Warwicks due to their features the moderns ones don't have: the different neck profile, the brass Just-A-Nut I and the Dunlop recessed/flush-mount strap-lock system. I picked it up today and started playing, and forgot how much this bass is fun to play. Nice low action, and a great tonal punch made even more sweeter with the Bartolini pups. In interests of full disclosure: there's a few light dinks on close inspection of the bottom, which I've tried my best to capture them on my photos but are difficult to see anyway. Also, there is a small problem with the electronics, which was disclosed to me when I bought it. It seems when run on active mode, the 9V battery drains as if it's on all the time. Never bothered to get it fixed as I preferred it on passive mode anyway. COLLECTION ONLY. I live in London (Near Clapham Junction and Victoria train stations). But I'm prepared to travel out by train if needs be. Happy to answer any questions. EDIT: I'm looking for a cash sale only I'm afraid. In fact my girlfriend was a little sad when I told her I was selling it... calling it a "pretty bass guitar".
LennyP Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Is it just the Bart pups or does it have the bart preamp as well? Cheers

alittlebitrobot Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 wow. Your girlfriend's right, it is a pretty bass guitar. My girlfriend feels the same about the Stu Zender Iroquai bass. The J/J/MM config must have sounded great!
Kev Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 This is such a good deal. £900 for a bass of this calibre is fantastic, if it were mine I would be adding at least £200 to that price, and even then I would be giving it away. Those on the fence, check the rrp of a new SSI
s_u_y_* Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Thank you Kev for the kind words. Bump!
4000 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 That is so gorgeous, just how SS1 should look IMO. I wish I was buying instead of selling.
fernandobicho Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 1994 was the last yer before Warwick move to a big factory. The last year when all the warwicks were 100% handmade. Bargain!
