I just finished the restoration of the # 402 bass . 1) Re sand the full bass 2) Clean and wash the rosewood top, note how is the wood grain is much more figured after all job. 3) Re paint the Bridge Status Logo 4) New high gloss clear quote 5) Re leveling fret job 6) Polish the gloss clear 7) New Control and Battery covers 8) All dings and scratches on the woven and wood surfaces were repaired. Lfalex v1.1 Posted July 19, 2013 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Nice work. Did you have to do anything to the fretboards to repair/clean them up? My Streamline has a seriously manky fretboard already. My sweat seems to have penetrated some of the resin, and it doesn't look nice. It almost needs a thin coat of black Epoxy resin to make it black/glossy/shiny again... The #1 problem was that the rosewood wasn't really dried ! It could seems dried for a 30 year wood, but rosewood has an natural oil that comes from inside of the wood for years ! This was the reason that the clear gloss was opaque and some top wood areas were discolored . So i had to put the bass in a dry booth for one week for a perfect dry ! The neck ding was fixed with resin and I made the woven neck black sunburst with an airbrush. The white 3rd fret dot was made gain. The Status logo on the bridge was re painted .
