New guitar: Fender Marauder

I've always loved the look of jags, but the amount of criticism online re the bridge/scale/switches/radius/etc put me off, when I saw these I knew I had to have one, and by sheer luck this one came up on eBay right at my birthday :)
A set of stripes and blocks later and some .11 strings and its mine :)
I appreciate the mods to the looks may not be to everyone's taste, but I like it.
Sounds nice, the triplebucker isn't all that, I'll replace with a standard humbucker when I can afford to pay a tech.
I only really use the bridge on guitars, the jazzmaster pickup sounds nice, but benefits from the tone being rolled back a little, build and playability are nothing short of spot on. Wish the switch was angled though, its tricky to swipe as it is, not that I need to lol. It feels like a Japanese fender, very quality feeling indeed.
Not bad for a cheapo made in China budget Fender I must say.

er ....... yeah, OK!?!?

I never used to like retro guitars at all, but I'm coming around to them more and more these days. I don't suppose I'd ever own one, but that looks very nice! I think I'd lose the bridge HB in favour of a more retro looking one though, so I agree with you there.

Nice birthday pressie!

Hahah. Yeah, I did rather contradict myself there!

The triplebucker with its the two bridge most coils just sounds like 'a humbucker' its the best sound on the guitar by a long way.
All three coils on adds a slight single coil 'quack' but really isn't a great sound at all.
I've a white Seymour Duncan I'll get fitted when I've the spare cash. I'd have no clue where to begin. The Duncan has a trillion wires coming out of it!

I put stripes on my brothers one too. Are the block inlays stickers? Also where are your stripes from? I got mine here http://afdecals.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=115
