The 8 string one would be worth having just on its own. I'd need to employ someone to hold it for me if I fancied gigging it though... FlatEric Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 WOW! I have [i]never [/i]seen one of those! It does look slightly odd and slightly right, in the same breath! The odd head facings make it look like two joined togther. There is an unusually great distance between the necks but then again the 8 string part doesn't look like the regular Ibby 8, which has the "Studio" slab body, so if it is a stuck together job, it has used the more rare MC980. My Jaydee twin weighs 21lbs, so a guess this would be around 20lbs ish. Time to do a bit of research. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
noelk27 Posted February 4, 2013 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Well, early 80s FujiGen did operate its custom shop. And the FujiGen custom shop would build anything you asked if you had the money. But this looks like a cut and shunt job. It's hard to tell, but there do appear to be two serial numbers on the headstock reverses - one in the earlier brown print, the other with the later yellow/gold "Crafted in ..." text.
