I like Purpleheart so much i've decided to use it in my new bass build.

I Like long scaled guitars...ie a 28" 7 string baritone, and this is only a couple of inch away from a short scale bass. add the fact i use Very heavy strings, i would say i would be well suited to a long scale bass.

So the idea is a 9 piece through neck (4 of which are just slim 2/3mm vaneers to add some contrast)
Why so Many?... well i lernt that mixing and matching through neck timbers give a very unique tone so i wanted to see how Rock Maple, Purple Heart and Walnut vanners would sound.
its gonna be a 36.5" scale, Purple Heart Fingerboard (thinking i may do frettless???) and Rock Maple Body Sides.
all silver hardware.... nothing fancy. 5 string. (would have gone 6 but 5 is alot similar sizes in the neck profile like my baritone)

2 pickups, 1 vol, 1 blend, 1 treble bleed and one tone. the only facyness im doing is adding some LED's under the pickups with will come on when you plug the jack in (aswell as powering the actives)

All the wood is ordered and cut ready for plaining and getting busy with he jigsaw and router..... will update the images as it gets built over the next few weeks.

Lower. Im very use to a C major Tuning so i have to work out the Guages (from Heavy to light'er) G, C, G, C, E... in the range of about 0.145 as the heavy unless i can find 150 to compensate for the slightly longer scale. (longer scale more tension)

Love that place. I travel down to Yandles every chance I get. Usually with my mate Ben from Crimson Guitars. Such a great selection
