Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer. To coin a phrase, “it does exactly what is says on the tin”. Bought this in 2003 and to be honest a mixture of immaturity and ignorance lead me to buying it as I didn’t really have a clue what it was and what it did. Got it home and used it once in my bedroom and ever since that day it’s been tucked away in its little box.
This is as “as new” as could possibly ever be meant by the term. It’s still got that factory smell and the box is in proper mint condish too. Effectively this is actually brand new…but obviously not cos it’s second hand.

The damage – I’m asking £35...nope, reduced to £30 including P&P!!! I’ll always be open to trade.

Looks like a great little mod, and cheap too. Do you use one Steve?

Yes, very very good mod kit turns it into a very transparent ,quiet and useful compressor. I won't give my thoughts as to the standard boss here :) but it is a huge improvement and makes for cheap quality compression.

anyone...? just realised that I actually have no use for this as I use a mild comp on my pod,

offer me a swap on something cheap and interesting? £30 posted is a fair price for a totally mint pedal which sells for £40 + £5ish shipping.
How well does this work with bass frequencies? Will it give the sort of thump sound on Faith No More's "Epic"?
I’m probably not the best to answer that one mate cos I’ve never used it properly. If I plugged it in now I wouldn’t know what to do with it so I couldn’t judge what it’s really doing. I’m sure others have more experience with it so they might be able to enlighten us...

It doesn’t lose anything from the frequency range though, nothing at all that I can tell.

anyone thinking about buying this but worried that it's crap could also buy this ... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=19091 ... from mr.sibs and have yourself a mint and modded CS-3 for the price of a standard new one...tempting ay :brow:

helpful bump or ya, if i hadnt just bought the behringer version i would have had it, i really like the beh one and the compression is pretty transparent on that, certainly more punchy. our drummer was very happy as it punched me through moire so he could hear me better. and for £30 for a boss pedal is a steal.

hope that helps :)
