So my amp arrived

My new head and cab arrived from soundslive this morning, gallien Krueger mb500 and 115mbe cab, and apart from the lack of speakon cable, all was well! Nipped down to maplin picked up a cable and back home, plugged in and I was in heaven!

Then the bad bit.... Went down and made myself some food, came back up to move the new amp into its corner it will be sitting, plugged my fx pedals into it, turned it on and OH MY GOD! An awful buzzing noise, it's so loud that you can actually feel the air being thrown out of the thing, as soon as you plug a bass in it minimises the noise again (although still present) I've tried unplugging all pedals, moving the amp back.... And still there!!

Hope this made some sense to somebody!! Help me please!!

Edit: it's more of a hum when the bass is unplugged, then a buzz when it's plugged in

If you move it back and plug it in as you did when you first tried it does it still make that noise? (summat amiss in that corner? - mebbe t'electrics)

Is it near any other electrical stuff that might be throwing out intereference?

Have you tried the 'waggle the cables' thing (summat amiss wit' cables?)

Have you tried different cables (summat amiss wit' cables?)

The buzzing may be due to a poor earth somewhere in the mains supply

this. sounds like it might be earthing better through the bass. which you're touching with your fingers. sounds like the source of the problem and in the wrong practice room or venue could be bad for your health. I'd take the maplin cables (which are probably faulty) back if I were you geez, invest in planet waves or van damme instead, if you can
