Sibob Posted June 30, 2011 Share Posted June 30, 2011 Yeah he killed it!! Great great player, and performer, nice to see someone properly getting into the music . He mostly used his Precision, but bought the Fodera 6 out on a few tunes, mostly for the Low B. He only really had two solos, one extended scat solo on the Fodera during an ambient jazz breakdown but the other on the Precision was really special, bluesy, lyrical and beautifully melodic! Really pleasantly surprised to find JJ Johnson on one of the kits too, didn't even register his name on the website, LOVE his playing with Mayer! Spotted: Guthrie Govan & Stevie Winwood While we were queing, Derek came out....one of the touts, obviously not knowing who he was, asked if he needed to buy or sell tickets!!...made us chuckle!
