Mikeg Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Im looking at starting a jazz bass project, I want the end result to be as good as possible for as cheap as possible. Ive looked at squiers, and I like what I see in the vintage modified section. However theyre not that cheap I also had a quick peek at SX, and they look very nice and with very nice prices. Green Alsatian Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) If you're after a dirt cheap platform for modding, the Vintage EJM96 Jazz copy can be had for less than £100. I had one not so long ago with the intention of modding it and found that it sounded and played pretty decently as-is. The jazz neck, the pickups, even brass bridge saddles. I dont like the neck pup hole though, its a swimming pool, meaning no sans pickguard playing. But it feels like it could be enhanced.
