it'd be great to get one of those and a couple of the tiny fender and marshall-style ones you can get for a tiny backline at a gig.

:)

edit: i've been thinking about this for the last 10 mins and i wonder how small you could make a viable bass cabinet ?

a 1x4 ? i know genz benz make a 1x8...

see - i've got all this spare plywood round the house :)

Phil Jones Bass Briefcase is 2x5" but I think the depth and structure of the cabinet is going to make a difference whatever the speaker size.

i'd imagine that the cabinet would be very important when you get down to this size.

i used to use a pair of bookshelf hi-fi speakers my dad made as a bass cab - it sounded ok at low vols irrc. i've still got the speakers somewhere...they were only a few inches across

If you've got the wood and a spare desk why not build some speakers into the desk? Maybe work out a way of porting it around the sides or something. That's something I'd LOVE to see. Guitar open backed in the middle then ported bass either side. Awesome.

yeah but he was never going to gig with that little thing anyway. If I had the space I would totaly build speakers into my desk.
