skywalker Posted January 10, 2008 Share Posted January 10, 2008 Hi Mods Would it be possible to start a board here which would act purely as a "Knowledge Base". We get the same topics turning up time after time (Courier/Customs issues, Flats or Rounds, Which strings on Fretless etc,) which could be incorporated into a knowledge base board for anyone to search. It could also incorporate the names of members who have specialist knowledge on a given subject and who would be willing to offer help if anyone needs it. I have merely heard of the idea of a Wiki, in that everyone can add things, organise it, correct mistakes etc, creating the perfect knowladge base. I suspect that only the mods can edit our Wiki though? Like I say, I haven't used it 'cos I generally see/get answers to my questions on the board. ped Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 I think anyone can edit the Wiki but for some reason I can never log in to it. I am not a big fan of the wiki thing anyway - inevitably the same questions will come up on the forum every now and then but it gives other people a chance to answer and get stuck in to the forum and help each other out, which is what the forum is about in my eyes. Tait Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 ^^^i agree that the forum is about asking questions and answering, but when you want answers quickly, asking can take a while. i'd trust the basschat wiki more than wikipedia or something, because only basschat members can log onto it. so i think it would be cool to get the wiki up and running more because then you don't have to wait an hour or so for someone to answer your questions, you can just look it up.
