13.
Hi, Does anyone know the story regarding availability of Leo Quan Badass II Bridge's ? I've been trying to buy one on line but everyone appears to be sold out ? . . . and most of the big online suppliers in the UK and the US have them listed as "Currently Unavailable" with no known date when they will be back in stock ? Are they obsolescent/discontinued or just temporarily out of stock ? Not much help on the Loe Quan company website - which says . . . . "After a delay in the supply of Leo Quan® - Badass™ products to the marketplace, it is with great pleasure that we share with our website visitors, fans and friends that we have completed and shipped a VERY large order to our US Distributor, ALLPARTS" . . . and that was back in July 2009 . . . .doesn't look like the sites been updated since ? . . . . . goes without saying that Allparts dont have any in stock ! Cheers,
hi there check out the hipshot fender replacement bridges more expensive than the baddass but imo twice as good.
 14.
I had a SWR Basic Black and found it to be less than satisfying. Neither particularly 'tubey' nor clear in tone
funny that" practically all the stages ive played in europe...(festival circuit..etc) equip with SWR/ampeg or the like.....maybe hartke....never marshall" or trace" i will be playing @ the womad festival this year...so i"ll keep my eyes open for the other stuff!!! maybe.
 15.
With a bit of judicious searching, £300 should get you a Roland D-Bass 115 combo. Terrific combos for the money, and, as they're not very trendy, a s/h bargain.
ID AGREE WTH THIS DUDE....BARGAIN!!!!
 16.
I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times before but please indulge me I'm currently in the process of selling my Ibanez sr500 and roland cube 30 bass combo for £280 As the roland is the only one I have I'm going to be in need of another but the choice is overwhelming I play all sorts of music but my favourite has to be funk Has anyone got any suggestions as to what combo i should be looking at?
FUNK....SWR MATE,,,, MAYBE AN OLD BASIC BLACK"...REDHEAD' SILVERADO" THE TUBEY STUFF sh*t HOT!!!!
 17. BOSS OC2 THEN ENVELOPE FOLLOWER.....SYNTH WITH GRIND..& B"WOW ITS AN ORIGINAL DOCTOR Q" INPUT SENSITIVE SO" ADJUSTING FROM MY J RETRO PREAMP A PLETHORA OF FUNK TONE.
 18.
Never ever really use effects other than my Diamond bass comp so might as well sell them on. Fulltone Fat-boost v1 (supposedly the best one on bass). It says it's a discrete clean boost on the box but it's far from it in reality. It's an amazing little pedal that adds a tonne of presence to your sound and the drive knob adds a nice touch of creamy valve-like grit. It's a very natural sounding drive with no nasty high end fizz. It's true bypass and comes boxed in excellent condition. £60 posted Xotic BB bass preamp. This is apparently a modified tubescreamer with a powerful 2 band eq. Sounds absolutely awesome with no loss of low end. Works perfectly but has a few paint chips and 'grantt' & '59' written on the base in silver pen (no idea why?). No box with this one. £80 posted
hi there..quite interested in the xotic can you help? i myself was looking to buy an R.C is the BB similar in boost"tone" etc or is there a nuance between these pedals?
 19.
Don't forget to check out the babicz bridge too, looks tasty.
tryed one!!! to my ears not that a discernable difference....but it will make a hole in your pocket...
 20.
Just bought another bass, a nice Fender, not sure what it is exactly, but I the body (neck is newer) is pretty old, early 60's I think. Anyway the bridge is quite tatty and I'm considering swapping it out for a Badass11. Just can't find one here in the UK. Tried google, tried Bass Centre, they are out of stock. There seems to be shortage of them. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get hold of one, preferably on-line. Many thanks
well hello... forget badass bridges!!!!! buy a hipshot fender replacement twice as good truly!!!!!
 21. hi there if you can get hold of a boss bf2b bass flanger on ebay BUY ONE!!!!!! WHY? because they chorus & flange the upper frequencies only & with some tweeking sound as good if not better than some pedals three times the price" l....therefore leaving the low end untouched!!!!! the reason they sound so good?????ANALOG.....of course.
 22.
Thats the same that I found with mine, wasn't sure if it was my imagination after seeing all the reviews about the tone of the bass. But it does seem very weak and a bit "hifi" for my liking. It's such a lovely bass in every other way so i'd hate to part with it. Decided on the Wizard 84's so hopefully they will help.
hi there nordstrand nj4s for a jazz bass sound wonderful" imo the di marzio ultra jazz are also good (sadowsky basses use these) lindy fralins are also a good choice" but i would not recommend fender custom shop!!!!!! there not as good in the tone department.....
 23.
I did seriously consider going for the Nordy pups but there was just a nagging feeling that I did not want to take out the original pups as that felt like it was taking out the heart of a vintage bass and made little sense. Not saying that this is wrong just that it made no sense to me. I have since bought the Sadowsky pre and then Aguilar Tone Hammer. I opted to keep the Aggie and moved on the Sadowsky simply because the ability to adjust the mids on the Tone Hammer made such a difference to me. One thing is for sure that there is no way that I could go back to the jazz without a pre-amp now as the difference in tone is huge.
i totally agree about removing pickups from vintage basses" by adding the pre amp onboard or outboard" the depth & width of tone available is magnified i personally have been disapointed with sadowsky products simply because of the price"hype" build " & final product quality. lastly your 100% on the money about mids" this is where the refined tones truly are.
